Deutsche Bank’s Christian Hausherr discusses payables finance in The Corporate Treasurer interview

Speaking with The Corporate Treasurer, Christian Hausherr, European product head of payables finance at Deutsche Bank and chair of the Global Supply Chain Finance Forum, discusses benefits of payables finance and misconceptions about the technique.
“As we have already seen, varying interpretation of the technique has led to some confusion and a lack of clarity. Technological innovation will only help the industry thrive if this is resolved,” he explains. “This is why, as part of our mandate at the GSCFF, we wanted to develop the standard definitions, to improve understanding of supply chain finance techniques.”
“Technology is helping the business to grow. Years ago, payables finance was mostly done manually and very regionally. Today, with technology, it is possible to offer payables on a global scale, with very high volumes and values,” he adds.
