OUR WORK aldi

ALDI Ireland.

ALDI is one of the largest retailers in Ireland, with a presence in all 26 counties of the Republic. The retailer employs more than 4,650 people, operates more than 160 stores nationwide and spends more than €1 billion annually with more than 330 Irish suppliers.

ALDI is focused on delivering value to shoppers across Ireland, and its discounter model has revolutionised the Irish grocery market since opening its first stores here in 1999.

FINN’s remit covers all of ALDI’s corporate communications and public affairs activities. ALDI retains other partner agencies (tendered and contracted separately) for its consumer communications and marketing, with whom we collaborate with regularly.

GOAL

Provide public relations counsel and services; media relations services and representation; and public affairs and communications strategy.

The Work

Working with teams within ALDI and cross-agency with ALDI’s creative agencies and the NPC team, we promote and profile the retailer’s commitment to Ireland and various key stakeholders including Irish suppliers, customers, charity partners and communities.

OUTPUTS SECURED

  • Secured national and local media coverage on Newstalk, RTÉ, Irish Times, the Business Post and Agriland, Cork Beo and others for announcements of new supplier contracts and contract extensions with leading Irish suppliers.
  • Secured meetings and photocalls with Minister for Agriculture as part of contract announcements
  • Worked with ALDI to create the launch event for ALDI’s ‘Mammy and Daddies Report’ and secure media coverage of launch.
  • Planned supplier showcase event, leveraging ALDI’s sponsorship with the IRFU, with players Paul O’Connell and James Ryan attending in aid of ALDI’s charity partners Barnardos

In addition to the above detail, we also manage all ALDI’s sustainability communications, including developing and planning the launch of its Sustainability Report, updates on its DRS plans and communicating successes and its general commitments to plastic and packaging reductions – a key strategic business pillar – as one of Ireland’s leading retailers.”
