Professional Experience
I love design, the process of creating something from nothing. I have worked at only three places in 35 years, the last two places were firms I started. A key to enjoying and being successful at your work is surrounding yourself with great people. I look forward to working with my new FINN colleagues as we “Work Hard. Play Nice.”

How'd you get here?
I drew at a young age, apparently on walls with crayons. It got so bad that my mother selected an industrial grade paint for my room and said “go ahead, have at it”. Twenty years later I graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1986 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with concentrations in graphic design and illustration. My first job was as an Art Director for a new small PR firm that also owned a local newspaper. I would sometimes be asked to prepare the layout for the newspaper – a great puzzle piece of headlines, subheads, photos and body copy. I believe my time at the Brentwood Journal prepared me for 30 years of designing annual, corporate and sustainability reports, as well as websites and magazines.
