Welcoming Our Newest Team Member, Michelle Hebert!

You moved to Nashville about five years ago from Albany, NY, what has that adjustment been like?

From Upstate NY to Hong Kong to Middle Tennessee and everywhere in between, my chapter in Nashville has been completely unexpected, amazing and a whirlwind—I wouldn’t have it any other way!

What inspired you to join DVL Seigenthaler/FINN Partners?

I was looking to grow into more areas of the industry to learn new skills alongside Art Direction, including information architecture, digital design and advertising on both a regional and global scale—a very desiring opportunity that DVLS had to offer. I’m excited and grateful to be a part of the team.

What is your favorite part about your work?

In all facets of what I do as a creative, regardless of the medium, I aim to tell a story in a unique way. It continues to be my favorite part about the user journey; from a great commercial, to a memorable ad campaign, or through an impressive web experience, I enjoy playing a small part in the product’s existence.

What is your go-to piece of advice for those looking to make a career change? Or those who are just starting out?

Do it. I have never regretted taking a leap into the unknown. It can prove to be challenging but incredibly rewarding. Show up to events alone. Ask questions. Volunteer to lead a discussion. Put yourself out there. My biggest advice would be to own the process, its failures and to grow from them.

What do you like to do in your free time?

When I’m not designing or traveling, I like to spend my time volunteering with the Middle Eastern refugee community both locally and globally. I also enjoy hiking and kayaking with my dog, Banjo.
