What Is An Affluencer?
June 30, 2021
Micro Influencers, Macro Influencers, and now Affluencers – the levels of influencer marketing seem to be endless. Recently, we’ve seen a rise in a new type of influencer known as Affluencers, or the affluent influencer. Keep reading to find out what an Affluencer is and how they can be incorporated into your next marketing campaign.
What Is An Affluencer?
Like an Influencer, an Affluencer is an individual who has major leverage in building a brand and getting their thoughts and opinions to a wide audience who trust and value them. The Affluencer is the affluent influencer, and is a new term in the Influencer marketing world.
What Makes Someone An Affluencer?
Affluencers fall into a much more specific category than the general Influencer. Affluencers have a household income of more than $100,000, have more than 5,000 followers, and influence their followers shopping and buying behaviors. There are over 100 million people considered Affluencers. They often only have the power to influence others because of their social standing.
Why Are Affluencers Important To Luxury Properties?
The luxury travel market is already so niche, and affluencers can be used to reach target customers in this market. Affluencers are often the trendsetters who drive others with their influence and recommendations. For example, Affluencers can make a destination a “go-to” place.
Including Affluencers In Your Strategy
For luxury properties, Affluencers are an effective way to get a hotel or resort in front of the right audience. As expected, Affluencers tend to “run in the same circle” and if multiple Affluencers are all visiting a property, their audience will be more likely to visit as well. This is why even more so than Influencers, Affluencers are known for being the trendsetters. Followers want to go where they are going because it has been made a trend.
